With this private tour, you’ll get to see the highlights of the Eternal City in a day visiting all the major attractions of Rome.
We’ll start with the Vatican Museums, the biggest collection of artworks in the world, in which we will focus on the wonderful Sistine Chapel and a few other highlights of the collection to avoid the risk to spend the whole day there.
Then we’ll visit St. Peter’s Basilica, the world’s greatest Catholic church, and the wonderful St. Peter’s Square from which the Pope provides his public audiences.
We’ll then walk by the nearby St. Angel Castle, the former Tomb of Emperor Hadrian, we’ll cross the Tiber River on an Ancient Roman bridge decorated with Baroque statues of angels, and after a short walk along a Renaissance district, we’ll get the famous Piazza Navona, with the beautiful baroque fountains by Bernini (time for a quick lunch in a typical restaurant).
The next stop will be at the Pantheon, the best-conserved temple of ancient Rome, dating back to the second century.
We will continue our walk to the Capitoline Hill, with the Renaissance square designed by Michelangelo and a wonderful view over the Roman Forum; we’ll enter it to admire the imposing remains of its temples and government buildings: the Roman Forum was the political, religious and commercial center of the ancient Romans.
Our last stop couldn’t be other than the Colosseum, we will go inside this incredible monument to see where the gladiators fought to the death and exotic bests from all over the Empire were hunted.
We’ll prepay your entrance fees to skip the lines at the Vatican and Colosseum.
